Gallaria Mall Display 2011

On Sep 24, the club provided a display of models for the Galleria Mall in Centerville, GA.  Table set-up was at 8:30AM and the display ran from 09:00AM to 3:00PM.  Member turnout was good with at least 13 attending sometime during the day.   People arrived and left as their schedules permitted.

Set-up was towards the center of the mall near the fountain area.  The skylights provided adequate lighting for those who wished to work on models.  There were electrical outlets available to provide additional lighting for those who needed more.

The goal of the display was to raise the public's awareness about the club and to recruit potential members.  I think we were successful on both counts.  There was a steady stream of people looking at the tables.  A lot were asking relevant, intelligent questions and most seemed genuinely interested.  Unfortunately, the more enthusiastic ones lived quite a ways out of town!  Who knows, maybe we picked up a new member or two.

We had 75 models displayed.  The majority were aircraft (Props, Jets, and helicopters) but we had quite a variety overall.  We could’ve used a few more cars and figures, though.

Like last year, the Mall display was a very good experience.  We definitely achieved our goals. .  If you weren't there, you really missed out.
